Came back from idare camp on thursday... and omg the camp rocked~! 4d3n camp at kota tingi rainforest resort~ around 50 ppl from bA came. Dont wanna go too much into details, good experiences are best kept in my memories :)
Easily the best "school" camp i've ever been to, i'll say mainly cause its voluntary and people had to pay $300+ to join the camp so those who went weren't wet-blankets~ 4 pre-glow activities already bonded my team Bingo, we had team Id's, we self-made some bossini tees, bought similar dog tags and columbia bottles~ I was put in charge of doing the team's flag.... Well everybody had something to do cause there's only 10 per team and we had to come up with campfire performance and skit and cheer etc~
Oh and we got our group name Bingo from Mei Ling's DOG. Stuff-toy dog.. It was a long story she shared to us during one of the camp nights... Last time she was a pretty loner kinda girl in secondary school, so she always talk to "bingo" her stuff toy... but then now in poly she became some super high profile girl, she still brings bingo EVERYWHERE she goes(lectures, even camp..) and that's how our team name came about.... =X
First day of camp was already packed to the max, short bus journey around 2 hours straight to camp from school. Then we jumped straight to the activities after our buffet lunch cause there wasn't a need for "ice breaking". We did re-birth, whale watch, abseiling, flying fox, rock climbing and it was all dead cool. Since it was a leadership camp, there was a short debrief after each activity and the trainers shared their personal experiences, alot about team work and group dynamics, very inspirational i'd say. Buffet dinner then i forgot what we did till nightfall, slept at 1...
Woke up at around 6:30 for morning PT, it was actually just playing games(warm up) and a "short" 3km run. Had shiok breakfast(bbq toast bread, bbq wings, deep fried egg, loads of yummy food) before we climb up Mt Panti. 6 hour long up and down hike, i brought home a beautiful memory of the summit's scenery, along with aching shoulders after carrying 10kg of water rations, 4 leechbites(in exchange for my BLOOOD), bruised kness and a tired me. The top of the mountain was dead cool, we had to climb up this natural rock wall before we reach the summit, which was above the rock. We couldn't start our fire at the top due to the wind so we had raw magi mee, thawed sausages, and canned baked beans for lunch.... yucks~! Had steamboat dinner, then we dunno do what till midnight.... I got colgate and some other girl stuff on my eyelids for attempting to sleep ... so we shared stories, see magician tricks(OMG IM STILL BAFFLED BY THIS) play many many game led by roxanne~
Nx morning had PT again, well, more games in other words! Oh and btw... toilet was freaky, its shared.... through my bathe i kept hearing guys and girls scream.... for various reason =X All the lecturer said was, "im sure you all are growns up and will know how to behave decently..." Im so sure that didn't get into the heads of some people. Then it was "water" day. We played indiana jones, was hella funny, two teams had to cross the river, to the other's side... i took the front and everybody followed.... everybody behind kept dropping into the super super muddy water haha... then it reached the point where both me and the other team clash... we two wrestled and we both got into the water... like what the heeeeeeck~!!! Then the game stucked there cause nobody could cross anymore, the bridge was too shaky and nobody dared to clash with the other team again lol.... Then we had rafting, had to cross the lake and back with our own raft... which disintergrated in the middle of the pool leaving my team mates stranded... screwed this up big time cause everybody SOOO helpful, dunno how to tie knots also anyhow try.... end up the knots came loose midway... haha... had fun nevertheless swimming with all the insects and pulling those non-swimmers back to shore. Had BBQ for dinner, rocked man, food rocked~ Then had river cascading... Took buoys to the top of the river and sat on the buoy, flowed to the waterfall then SPLASH~! Haha.. absolute fun. Met one whole lot of army personals there, with their big guns and menacing dogs that kept their eyes on us when we walked past...
Campfire at night, had some uber cool and hilarious performanced by the various groups, SF's and trainers and we revealed the angle/mortal game we were playing, Alicia's my mortal and Monica's my angel... My mortal's dam sweet can~! Haha.. Well the night went on and we continued our endless stories, games, and card trick went on, freaking some people out.... Went on till morning, many many people kanna the same thing i had when i fell asleep the previous night... haha, was dam funny seeing their expressions when they woke up~
morning had PT again, i was super tired... But still, yeah, then indoor games, sharing, prize presentation, sharing, alot of ppl cry cry cry -.-" Yeah, then went jusco for lunch and shopping and home sweet home~! Cabbed back with Sheryl Rong De and Xavier. Definitely the best camp ever, knew alot of friends and alot of "first-time" games! See me going to idare 2008 and 2009 :) hopefully as facilitators!
Say im crazy but after i came back from camp, i delivered donuts to Grace, and returned sleeping bag to Martin, then played pool and ate durian with Walmond untill 1, then returned home at 2 and went online, slept at 4... And take into consideration i only had 7 hours of sleep the past 3 nights, along with numerous activities that wear me out!
Then had NED reunion dinner at my place~! Thankfully Pam woke me up around 2+ so i cleared my messy messy room up and went back to sleep(accidentally!) Then woke up again around 4+ go find Pamela, met her coincidentally along the escalator haha, went shopping for food and James came halfway, then went home to prepare the food. Thx to Pam, she helped alot with the food whilst James wrote card for Alvin haha.... Thanks to all who came and made it possible~! And dont ask me how so many people managed to squeeze into my cosy home! Haha, time to go for concert...
